1.2. We respect your privacy and build the Site’s operation on the principle of data minimization. For analytics, we use special software that ensures compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without compromising your convenience.
1.3. By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, please leave the Site.
2. Collection and Processing of Data
We collect two types of information:
2.1. Publicly Available Information (data you consciously leave):
- Nickname or Pseudonym: May be indicated when writing a comment or through the contact form. You are entitled to use any fictitious name.
- Email Address: Provided solely at your discretion (e.g., to receive feedback). This field is not mandatory for posting comments.
- Message Text: The content of your comment or inquiry to support.
2.2. Automatically Collected Anonymized Data (Analytics):
To understand how many people visit our fairy tale collection, we use the ZenMarkup Privacy Analytics plugin.
Important: This tool is created with user privacy in mind and operates without cookies. It does not track your identity, internet browsing history, or store your real IP address (irreversible hashing is used). The collected information is anonymized and includes: page visit data, country and city (at the regional level, without the exact address), browser type, and device. This data is stored locally in our WordPress database and is never transferred to third parties, including the plugin developer.
3. Purposes of Processing
3.1. Site Functionality: Publishing your comments under the indicated nickname, and enabling the contact form.
3.2. Communication with You: If you provided an email, we can respond to your question. The email is never published in public access.
3.3. Analytics: The anonymized data from clause 2.2 is needed for us to count visits, understand the geography of our readership, and improve the Site’s operation (e.g., identifying the most popular fairy tales).
4. Legal Basis (GDPR and CCPA Compliance)
4.1. Processing of publicly available data (nickname, comment text) is carried out on the basis of your consent and the public nature of these actions.
4.2. Processing of anonymized technical data is carried out on the basis of the Operator’s legitimate interest in improving the service, as it poses no risks to the Users’ private life and does not require personal identification.
5. Comments and Gravatar
5.1. When leaving a comment, we may use a hash of your email (if provided) to query the Gravatar service (checking for an avatar associated with that email). Automattic’s Privacy Policy (the owner of Gravatar) is publicly available. If an avatar exists, it will be displayed next to your comment.
6. Data Storage and Transfer
6.1. Your nicknames and comments are stored on the server until you request their deletion or as long as the Site exists.
6.2. Analytical data (anonymized) is stored no longer than the period set in the settings (up to 365 days by default) and is automatically deleted.
6.3. We do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties for marketing. The only exceptions are legitimate requests from law enforcement agencies in a manner prescribed by law. Your data is not used to create a “digital profile” or for automated decision-making.
7. Your Rights
In accordance with international data protection standards (GDPR, CCPA), you have the right to:
- Access: Find out what data from what you publicly provided we hold.
- Rectification: Ask to correct a nickname or comment text.
- Erasure: Request the deletion of your comments and the provided email address. Please note: this does not apply to anonymized analytics, as we cannot identify a specific person within it.
- Opt-out of Analytics: ZenMarkup does not use cookies and does not require a consent banner, so your visit is not tracked in a personalized way by default.

8. Security
8.1. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, theft, or unauthorized access. The analytics plugin runs entirely on our server, without loading external scripts or transferring raw data outside.
