  • Nickname or pseudonym: Can be specified when writing a comment or via the feedback form. You have the right to use any fictional name.
  • Email address: Provided solely at your request (for example, to receive feedback). This field is not mandatory for publishing comments.
  • Message text: The content of your comment or support request.

2.2. Automatically Collected Anonymized Data (analytics):

  • To understand how many people visit our collection of fairy tales, we use the ZenMarkup Privacy Analytics plugin.
  • Important: This tool is built with user privacy in mind and works without cookie files. It does not track your identity, your internet search history, and does not store your real IP address (an irreversible hashing method is used).
  • The collected information is completely anonymized and includes: the fact of visiting a page, country and city (at the regional level, without an exact address), browser type, and device type. This data is stored locally in our WordPress database and is never transferred to third parties, including the developer of the plugin itself.

3. Purposes of Processing

3.1. Website Functionality: Publication of your comments under the specified nickname, and ensuring the operation of the feedback form.
3.2. Communication: If you left an email, we can reply to your question. Your email is never published in the public domain.
3.3. Analytics: Anonymized data from section 2.2 is required for us to count traffic, understand the geography of readers, and improve the website performance (for example, to identify the most popular fairy tales).

4. Legal Basis (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

4.1. The processing of public data (nickname, comment text) is carried out within the framework of your consent and the public nature of these actions.
4.2. The processing of anonymized technical data is carried out based on the legitimate interest of the Operator to improve the service, as it carries no risks to the private life of Users and does not require identity verification.

5. Comments and Gravatar

5.1. When you leave a comment, we may use a hash of your email address (if you provided it) to query the Gravatar service (to check if an avatar associated with this email exists). The privacy policy of Automattic (the owner of Gravatar) is publicly available. If an avatar exists, it will be displayed next to your comment.

6. Data Storage and Transfer

6.1. Your nicknames and comments are stored on the server as long as you do not ask to delete them, or as long as the Website exists.
6.2. Analytical data (anonymized) is stored for no longer than the period specified in the settings (by default, up to 365 days) and is automatically deleted.
6.3. We do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. The only exceptions are legitimate requirements of law enforcement agencies in accordance with the procedure established by law. Your data is not used for creating a “digital profile” or automated decision-making.

7. Your Rights

In accordance with international data protection standards (GDPR, CCPA), you have the right:

  • To Access: Learn exactly what data from those you left publicly we have stored.
  • To Rectify: Ask to correct your nickname or the text of your comment.
  • To Erasure (Deletion): Demand to clear your comments and delete the provided email. Please note: this does not apply to anonymized analytics, as we cannot isolate a specific person in it.
  • To Opt-out of Analytics: ZenMarkup does not use cookies and does not require a consent banner, so your visit is not tracked in a personalized way by default.

8. Security
